Historical Leather Work
Our historical leather items are created using the finest materials and techniques. We produce a variety of items, including bench-copy reproductions, historically-plausible interpretations, and historically-inspired creations. All of our products in this line are hand-stitched. Although we use many historical stitch techniques, our main stitch used is the saddle stitch. This is done in the traditional manner, juggling two threads and an awl simultaneously in the hands, quite unlike most leather workers today who have adopted a pre-chiseled method. While the latter is time-efficient and requires less experience and technique, we feel our products deserve better. Most of the tools we use are well over 100-150 years old. We use the finest of leathers for the finest of products.
